Giving back with every purchase
As one of the poorest countries in the world, the need for development in Nepal is huge and Egos Copenhagen believe that the best way to contribute to this is to provide good and lasting jobs to the people of Nepal.
From the very beginning, it was important that all work be conducted under fair working conditions and that workers would be paid a decent wage for their work, and in 2009 Egos were certified by the World Fair Trade Organization.
Fairtrade stands for better prices, decent working conditions, local sustainability, and fair terms of trade for workers in the developing world.
By requiring companies to pay sustainable prices Fairtrade addresses the injustices of conventional trade, which traditionally discriminates against the poorest, weakest producers, and enables them to improve their position and have more control over their lives.
As well as providing stable jobs to artisans in Nepal, Egos also provides financial support to orphanages in Kathmandu and have been involved in various development projects.
By purchasing a pair of Egos felted wool slippers you're helping this amazing company provide financial support to a Nepalese artisan and his or her family.
